Quick answer: The Mets are scheduled to open their 2027 spring training game schedule on Friday, February 19 at Clover Park in Port St. Lucie against the Miami Marlins, and to play 30 spring games, 15 of them at home, with the last home game on Saturday, March 20 against the Houston Astros. As of October 24, 2026, the Mets had not announced 2027 ticket prices, the date tickets go on sale, game times, or the first workout dates for pitchers and catchers. In spring 2026, workouts were free to watch, game-day parking was $15 plus tax, Clover Park was cashless and bags were not allowed. One more thing to watch: CBS Sports reported on October 8, 2026 that baseball's labor agreement expires December 1, 2026, and a lockout could move these dates, as one did in 2022.
Since 1988, the New York Mets have held spring training at Clover Park in Port St. Lucie's St. Lucie West neighborhood. If you are coming down for a few games, or thinking about living close enough to go whenever you want, this guide puts the 2027 schedule, the ticket timing and the ballpark rules in one place, with the source for each.
I'm William Merchant, a REALTOR with RE/MAX Gold here in Port St. Lucie. Everything below comes from the Mets, Major League Baseball, St. Lucie County and the county's tourism office unless I say otherwise, and I flag what has not been announced yet.
When is Mets spring training in 2027?
The Mets announced on September 4, 2026 that they will open their 2027 Grapefruit League schedule on Friday, February 19 at Clover Park against the Marlins. They are scheduled to play 30 spring games, 15 at home. The release lists the opponents: the Astros and Marlins seven times each, the Nationals and Cardinals six times each, and the Braves and Twins twice each. There is no Yankees game on the 2027 schedule.
The last home game is Saturday, March 20 against the Astros, and spring ends Sunday, March 21 with a game against the Marlins in Jupiter. The Mets then open the regular season Thursday, March 25 at Miami, with the first home series at Citi Field against the Giants from April 2 to April 4. The Mets say game times "will be announced in the coming months" and that the schedule "is subject to change."
First workout and report dates for 2027 had not been announced as of October 24, 2026. For reference, MLB.com's February 4, 2026 spring FAQ gave February 11 as the first workout for pitchers and catchers and February 16 as the first full-squad workout.

| Saturday, March 20 | Houston Astros (last home game) |
The Mets' announcement gives only the opening game, the totals and the opponent counts, so the dates above come from MLB's own schedule data as viewed October 24, 2026. Its totals match the announcement. On two of those days, February 23 and March 13, the schedule also has the Mets playing a road game in Jupiter.
Could a lockout change the dates?
Possibly. The agreement between the owners and the players expires at 11:59 p.m. ET on December 1, 2026, and CBS Sports reported on October 8, 2026 that owners are expected to lock out the players if there is no new deal by then. It has happened before. The last lockout ended March 10, 2022, and that spring the games were rescheduled to start about March 17 and Opening Day moved to April 7, according to CBS Sports. If you are planning a trip around specific games, I would keep plans flexible until a deal is announced.
When do tickets go on sale, and what do they cost?
The Mets said on September 4, 2026 that spring tickets will go on sale "on a date to be announced at a later time," and to check mets.com or stluciemets.com. For a sense of timing, 2026 tickets went on sale December 11, 2025 at 10 a.m. ET at Mets.com/SpringTickets.
As of October 24, 2026, the Mets had not posted 2027 spring prices, and I did not find an official price list for 2026 seats. A Macaroni Kid Port St. Lucie guide dated February 11, 2026 said tickets "usually start around $30," and a Macaroni Kid Stuart guide dated February 10, 2025 put the usual range at $27 to $42. Treat those as Macaroni Kid's estimates, not the team's prices.
A few things from the team's 2026 rules are worth knowing before you buy. Tickets were digital: screenshots were not accepted, and fans showed the ticket in the MLB Ballpark app or Apple Wallet. Children under 3 did not need a ticket if they sat on an adult's lap. The team also sold batting practice passes for $75, limited to the first 75 fans, and early entry passes for $25, and pass holders could enter two and a half hours before the game. For spring season tickets or groups, the Mets list info@stluciemets.com and 772-871-2115.
Are the morning workouts free?
In 2026 they were. MLB.com's spring FAQ said "all workouts before the start of Grapefruit League games are free and open to the public." The St. Lucie Mets said gates opened at 9:30 a.m. for open workouts, parking and entry were free on days without a game, and parking was $15 plus tax on game days. On game days, workouts ended around 10:45 a.m. MLB.com said players typically start filtering onto the back fields around 9:30 a.m. ET.
I did not find an official autograph policy from the team. A Hometown News preview of the 2026 workouts said that with patience you may get an autograph or a selfie with some of the players.
Know before you go: parking, bags, cash and shade
These are the St. Lucie Mets' 2026 rules. I did not find 2027 rules on the team's site as of October 24, 2026, so check it before your first game.
- Parking: $15 plus tax per car for spring games ($25 plus tax for buses and RVs), no cash.
- Cashless: Clover Park takes credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. You can trade cash for a Clover Park gift card in the Fan Shop.
- Bags: not allowed, except medical bags, diaper bags, and a small clutch, purse or fanny pack measuring 5 by 9 inches.
- Gates: open 1 hour and 40 minutes before first pitch; spring season ticket holders get in 30 minutes earlier.
- Food and drink: no outside food or drinks except one sealed bottle of water.
- Chairs and umbrellas: no folding chairs or large umbrellas; small tote umbrellas are allowed, golf umbrellas are not.
- Strollers: umbrella strollers that collapse and fit under a seat.
- Smoking: not allowed, including vaping.
For shade, MLB.com's 2023 ballpark guide suggests the upper level and notes shaded areas and picnic tables along the walkway down the third-base line. The berm beyond the right-field wall was added in 2004, per the same guide. Concessions are run by Aramark, per the team's A to Z guide, and MLB.com's 2023 guide pointed fans to the Taco in a Helmet stand and the Jim Beam Bourbon Bar on the left-field patio. Fans keep foul balls, and the first aid station is on the third-base concourse.
As for weather, the 1991 to 2020 normals for Fort Pierce, the nearest station in the Florida Climate Center's data, average a high of 74.3 degrees F and a low of 55.4 in February, and 77.0 and 58.5 in March. Plan for sun.
How do you get to Clover Park?
Clover Park is at 31 Piazza Drive in St. Lucie West. The St. Lucie Mets' directions: from I-95, take Exit 121 east on St. Lucie West Boulevard, make the first left onto Peacock Boulevard, and the ballpark is a half mile on the right. You can also take the Midway Road exit (126) and follow Torino Parkway to NW Peacock Boulevard.
Flying in, Visit St. Lucie, the county's tourism office, on a transportation page last updated July 11, 2025, puts St. Lucie County just under an hour by car from Palm Beach International, about an hour from Melbourne International and two hours from Orlando International. Those times are to the county, not to the ballpark door.
Clover Park, by the facts
The ballpark opened for the 1988 season as Thomas J. White Stadium, when the Mets moved spring training to Port St. Lucie. It became Tradition Field in 2004 and Digital Domain Park in 2010; Ballpark Digest reported on October 4, 2012 that Digital Domain was canceling that naming deal, and the Mets' 2017 release refers to the park as "formerly called Tradition Field." It became First Data Field in 2017 and Clover Park in February 2020, after Fiserv's 2019 acquisition of First Data. St. Lucie County operates it and calls it the spring home of the Mets and "the hub for all New York Mets minor league operations."
In February 2019, county commissioners approved a $57 million renovation, with $55 million from the county and $2 million from the Mets, and MLB.com reported the deal keeps the Mets in Port St. Lucie "until at least 2042." MLB.com later wrote that the work was "mostly completed just before Spring Training in 2020." Seating figures vary by source: the county lists capacity at 7,800, while MLB.com's 2023 guide says 7,160.
Attendance gives a sense of the crowds. The Florida Sports Foundation's Grapefruit League figures show 88,600 fans over 16 Mets games at Clover Park in 2026, an average of 5,538, and 106,027 over 16 games in 2025.
Spring training nearby in Jupiter and West Palm Beach
If you want more baseball in one trip, two more spring parks are south of here. Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium, 4751 Main Street in Jupiter, is the spring home of the Marlins and Cardinals, and CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches, 5444 Haverhill Road in West Palm Beach, is the spring home of the Astros and Nationals. The Florida Grapefruit League's site puts them 41 and 53 miles south of Clover Park. By my count from MLB's schedule data, the Mets are scheduled to play six road games in Jupiter and seven in West Palm Beach in 2027.
Is there baseball at Clover Park after spring training?
Yes. The St. Lucie Mets, the Mets' Single-A affiliate in the Florida State League, play there from spring into late summer. MLB's schedule data shows their 2027 home opener on Friday, April 2 against the Daytona Tortugas and their last home game on August 29. The team's 2025 guide listed adult tickets at $10 to $12, up $2 on game day, and the team lists parking at $5 plus tax. Start times vary by day of the week, so check the time for the game you want. The county also uses the complex for festivals, concerts, tournaments and RV shows when the teams are away.
What is it like to live near Clover Park?
Clover Park sits in St. Lucie West, which the city's June 2026 draft land use plan puts at 4,614 acres with 7,523 approved dwelling units. MLB.com's February 4, 2026 spring FAQ describes it as "a rapidly growing neighborhood, with plenty of restaurants, bars, retail stores, golf courses and other businesses in the area." The county's tourism page for St. Lucie West, last updated September 17, 2024, names West End Grill, SuperPlay, Duffy's Sports Bar, Vine & Barley, Tutto Fresco and Roy's Sushi Thai and Grill, and says the area has four PGA golf courses. Check that a business is open before you plan around it.
Two things to know if you are buying here. First, the St. Lucie West Services District, a community development district created in 1990, serves the area from Florida's Turnpike to I-95 between the C-108 Canal near Torino and Crosstown Parkway. The district says its assessment appears on the annual property tax bill and its utility fees on a monthly water and wastewater bill, so ask whether the address you are considering is inside the district. Second, the neighborhoods vary a lot. Lake Charles is a guard-gated community of 1,128 homes by its HOA's count, and Kings Isle has "a 55+ age restriction," according to an undated Real Estate of Florida page. Tradition is a separate part of the city, and the ballpark first carried the Tradition name in 2004. I compare the two in Tradition vs St. Lucie West.
If you are weighing a bigger move, my pros and cons of living in Port St. Lucie covers costs, insurance and storms, and the New York to Port St. Lucie guide walks through the move itself. If you only want a winter base for spring training, start with buying a second home on the Treasure Coast.
